✦ LOST IN LIMBO DEVLOG #20 | 03.07.2025
This month has been a little quieter than the rest—but that doesn't mean nothing has happened!
June has been another month of battling our manufacturer, but FINALLY, FINALLY! They've shipped our merch and it's on our way to us! This mainly concerns our Kickstarter folks, but after suffering 'hepatic failure Amon' and other stuff, it feels great to share the good news with everyone!
Let's jump into it, folks!

In June, we tackled Grandma's concept art. Her face, her clothes—everything has been designed and is ready for the sprite! As we told y'all in last devlog, Airyn is the one mainly in charge of the concept art stage this time around. With Grandma's design finished (and as always, Kickstarter folks will get juicier previews!) all the extra character for the new prologue are ready! This past month, Raquel has had to attend a wedding on a different country and also has went on a well deserved vacation, so no sprites this time around!
Also, Raquel made our Pride Month illustration, as always, and this time we celebrated Amon! The original version had his boogas in full display, but we toned it down a bit BJHSDHFDS
Ara's birthday was June 12th, and as Raquel was going to be chained to a table at her grown-up job, we decided to commission dear Nena (@/nena0me) for an artpiece! We celebrated poor Xal's birthday aswell with this piece, because The Orphan joke runs wild, apparently, and we are bad parents T_T
All the backgrounds for the new Prologue are done, so now we are moving on to the concept art needed to flesh out the Circles' aesthetics. We'll start with Amon's Dagalis, and I have been working on a moodboard for Airyn and Astro to do some architecture studies :^) The plan is to have a clear idea of how every Circle looks before we jump in to getting specific backgrounds ready!
The Extended Demo document is so heavy with suggestions and corrections that IT CRASHES if I try to open the suggestion panel. Our fantastic editor Allie has revised almost 40% of the script and I have already been accepting suggestions, correcting some stuff myself, and exchanging ideas with Allie! What an incredible editor (and I don't say that just because we're friends!). Allie understands my writing and always strives to take it to the next level, not just correcting my usual oopsies, but overall improving the flow of things, character voices, and even choices. Also, she's obviously axing some of my "this could've been an email" moments!
Here, have an innocent sneak peek of our ✨first choice✨ in the new prologue! A flavor one, hehe!

Programming has been an adventure this month! I've coded Evie's main sprite, and also started coding the voiced names I've been receiving from our VAs! 💜 It has been a looong and hard task to figure out how to pull it off; we have seven characters, a bunch of names that can be voiced, and three different moods for each name. So far what works for me has been a dictionary, and after cracking my head open doing some research, stuff works as it should. I think there's a more practical way of doing what I'm doing, but for now I'm happy with it working as intended jdfddgj.
Also, in June I took care of LiL's demo Play Store Version. It needed an update to be able to work, but it went live and so far there doesn't seem to be any problems with it :^)
This month we have been also thinking about our future Patreon. Plan is to launch it along with our new demo, but as y'all know, a bunch of Kickstarter polls must be held before anything becomes definitive! We'll discuss money, content, and more with our backers before settling on anything. For now, we have a draft with the tiers, what each one includes, and a base price for every single one :^) We'll have the classical tip jar for those who want to support us further, and a tier with beta access, most likely!
Also, Tomás is going to start working on another batch of tracks for our original soundtrack, so who knows? Maybe our new prologue has even more tracks than we anticipated!💜
In addition, Astro has been working on adding the latest concept art to the artbook, and we have decided to change the format a bit—nothing serious! We were aiming for a japanese binding, but sadly we realized that meant full-page illustrations were not possible, and we want that for you! What we'll have to pay doesn't change that much, and in fact I think the new binding is way more accurate comparing it to our initial mock-up!
OH! We also celebrated Astro's birthday (June 15th), Raquel's (June 10th), and Airyn's (June 27th). Well, technically, we haven't physically celebrated Raquel and Astro's birthday yet, but this Saturday we are finally hanging out! 💜
Extra aknowledgement to my mom's birthday (June 30th), my aunt's (June 3rd) and Astro's mom (June 28th)! As you can guess, my wallet is suffering immensely and I'd ask for every person in my life NOT TO BE BORN IN JUNE!!!! PICK ANOTHER MONTH!! /j
I also had to work on a few papers for my PhD, as me and my PhD bestie got accepted on two congresses! I have to start writing a big research article TM to send to a magazine and just earlier today I had a breakdown about it BHSDHFBSD but I'm fine now!!!!!!!!!!!!
Astro has pre-enrolled on a vocational training program, Raquel is blissfully overworked in her grown-up job, and Kayden has been destroyed by the spanish tax authorities ✨. What a month!
This devlog feels like we did so little this month! T_T Apologies if it's a bit underwhelming. Rest assured that work is going well! I'm personally really excited to keep correcting the script and maybe start coding some scenes soon, hehe.
