I like Envy better because he actually was willing to let you go, even if it means you get killed.

I STRONGLY dislike the other guy you meet first.
Because he refuse to give you a choice.

I don't give a damn what reason he has for it. He's an asshole for forcing you.
No amount of good intention can change that.

So I will say this:

The game could be better if you actually was allowed to leave and get yourself killed when you had the chance. BEFORE going to the tower.

Envy says he is giving you a choice, but you do NOT get a choice.
It would be so easy to let the player choose to take his hand or not, and let them figh slugs till they die, or just have a death scene from a group of slugs attacking.

It feels less like a prison where you want to kick and scream and reject everything if you TRULY had a choice.

Consequences be damned.

Take 2:

....Gael creeps me out.... >_>; He sends my suspicion level up to max and then some.

I like Envy a million times better. He feels way more trustworthy.

....and Gael freaks me out even more....

Ah. I was proven right. He IS someone not to trust.

They are clearly going about things the wrong way if the want someone to help them tho.

Just about every second action makes me feel like killing them out of pure spite.

....Pride freaks me out like mad too. >_>; There's something extremely creepy and dangerous about him.

I don't like Ara. At all.

Xal is kinda funny tho. ...I kinda like him. Just a little.

I don't see why they insist on calling you a guest when you're pretty much a prisoner. (And I'm a little sad you can't point that out to them.)

(To be fair, I'd probably tell them to just kill me and be done with it, because it's bound to be better than whatever they've planned for me.

I hate people who claim to be good while doing shit that is clearly evil --like stealing your freedom.

I'd have more respect for them if they openly proclaimed they were evil. I'd expect the shit they did and be less pissed off at them for it if they had, ironically enough.)

I am honestly beginning to hope there will be a chance later in the game to join the tower. For better or worse.

Consequences be damned.

I still don't get how you can feel remotely relieved that a bunch of egocentric people out to save their own hide 'takes care of you' for reasons you do not understand, while they expect something from you that you don't know if you'll even want to do for them.

You're basically a kidnapped prisoner halfway on the way to become a slave.

With the only other option to risk death by fleeing into a hostile land where you know for a fact your home isn't.

Not a situation to relax in. Nor people to trust.

Non the less this is a good game.

And the second play-trough let me notice more of the story, and it seems a well-written one.

The biggest problem is that you are surounded by enemies on all sides, and the mc does not act like she is.

(The again, Envy called her an empty-headed idiot or the likes, so I will choose to believe the mc is intentionally meant to be a brain-dead moron --in which case her behavior is perfectly in-character.

Which makes it a little bit less frustrating when she does dumb things like trusting her enemy.)

I don't know who the guy in the beginning of the game is, but I really, REALLY hope he's romancable! ❤️

He's the dreamiest dream-guy ever. ^_^
(I know, bad pun. lol)

How on EARTH you can relax with a person so suspicious as the soothsayer tho is beyond me.

(In fairness; I might have bolted right around the point he knew more about me than just village rumors.)

The seemingly 'difficult' choice is NOT a choice!! >_<
ALL choices lead to the same, EVEN if it's NOT the choice the arrow is drawn too. >_<

Why not have all the choices say the same damned thing then?
Why pretend a choice exist if there is non? >_>

...I may have changed my mind about the dream guy.
I might just destroy him, his dream, and everything he holds dear instead!
And join his enemy and ruin his plans! *glares*

(I don't appreciate being forced into things.
I DO appreciate the chance of taking horrible, painful vengeance on people who try, however. So I keep my fingers crossed that is an option in this game.)

...I would also have stabbed the guy who grabbed you while fleeing from the monster. It is NOT wise to trust someone who randomly grabs you.
Why is it not a choice to stab him and run?

Of course the mc is dumb enough to listen to a voice in her head... But I am going to chalk that up to some kind of compulsion spell.
(Otherwise she's dumber than I thought.)

Small writing error: The guy say I trusted him once before, and I need to do so again.... I did NOT trust him. Not once. Not even a little.
It would be better if you changed what he says there based on your trust level from before.

I also wish you had the choice to call the guy a kidnapper and try to run away.

I may not particularly -want- to go to the voice, personally.... but I'd still like to have the CHOICE to do so.

(And I might want to try on another walktrough, once I am less pissed off at the guy who dragged me there.
If he really is the guy from the beginning dream, I do like his personality.)

--

Now that my irritation over being dragged around against my will is over, and done pissing me off, and I am marginally more objective....

As a game....

The story is actually pretty interesting, and the art is very good.

I DO wish you have more choices to fight everyone off and reject everyone and everything and keep trying to escape.

I also wish the choices -mattered-.
Even IF your choices lead to bad ends.
Because it is ALWAYS better to be able to make a bad choice than to not have a choice at all.

(And if the guys who kidnapp-saved you didn't want you there, it would cost them nothing to let you go.
Even if it means you get eaten by monsters.

And there should be a choice to try and run away, even if you end up in the hands of the voice who brought you there, should you survive the monsters.

....actually, taking his route would make a nice side-game to this.
A dark mirror version I imagine.)

But I will concede that this game have more choices in that direction than many other games, so it's not all bad.

The artwork is good, and I am INCREDIBLY curious about what the monsters who call your name is.

I also wonder if there will be a way you can reject everything and go back to you world, and let that world rot, in the end.

....and yes, as much as he pissed me off, I still wonder if the first dream-guy is romancable.
While his approach was terrible, and manipulation would have worked a million times better, I STILL like what I've seen of him.
His heavy-handedness aside.

Presuming it is the first dream-guy we're talking about.
Because he did speak like a villain.

(And I would never in a million years be any kind of hero. Or date one.)

As frustrating as the game is, it's also a very good one.
As far as I can tell.

And I would love to see more of it, when more of it is developed.

Or if this was just the demo, and the full game is finished; I hope to find it on Steam.

Because it really does seem interesting.
(And Envy is kinda hot, and have a sensible attitude.)
